GWF Acquires Assets of i2O Water Ltd. to Provide End-to-End Smart Water Network Offering

GWF AG, the Swiss utility metering and smart water technology company, today announced the acquisition of the Assets of i2O Water Ltd., a UK-based specialist in water network pressure optimization and leakage reduction.

i2O is an established provider of pressure management technology to water utilities across the United Kingdom and selected international markets, with a product suite spanning data loggers, advanced pressure-reducing valve (PRV) controllers, and adaptive optimization software. Its solutions are deployed to help utilities reduce Non-Revenue-Water, lower burst frequency, extend asset life, and cut the energy and carbon associated with over-pressurized networks.

The acquisition unites two complementary technologies into a single, integrated offering. GWF BALANCE, the company’s pressure-optimization solution, predicts the optimal zone pressure across a distribution network. i2O’s PRV controller and Adaptive Open Loop technology then execute that target autonomously at the valve – closing the loop from advisory insight to near real-time intervention.

«I am truly excited to welcome i2O Water into GWF,» said Florian Strasser, CEO & Chairman of GWF AG. «Water utilities everywhere face challenges in water network management, often with constrained budgets. By bringing together i2O’s proven pressure-management technology with GWF BALANCE and our broader INFINIO® data platform, we can offer customers a system that not only tells you what optimal looks like but also delivers it. This innovative and cost-effective solution helps our water utility customers to reach the next level in network management and Non-Revenue-Water reduction.»

Existing i2O customers and partners can expect continuity of service and support throughout the transition, alongside the expanded engineering resources, platform capabilities, and long-term investment that GWF brings to the business. The existing team will be integrated into GWF’s UK business unit. The production of i2O products will remain in Southampton.

«We look forward to working closely with i2O’s customers and partners as we continue to advance smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable water networks in our key markets,» said Gary Vincent, Managing Director of GWF Ltd.
